Explore Outdoor Co. is an authorized retailer of products made and supplied by independent manufacturers. Product warranties are provided by the applicable manufacturer, not by Explore Outdoor Co., unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

We are here to help customers understand warranty coverage, gather documentation, and coordinate with the manufacturer when a warranty issue arises.

1. Manufacturer Warranty Coverage

Warranty coverage varies by brand, product type, component, and intended use. Some products include limited manufacturer warranties, while others may have product-specific or component-specific coverage.

Manufacturer warranties may cover defects in materials or workmanship under normal residential use, but coverage depends on the manufacturer’s written warranty terms.

Warranty coverage may vary for:

  • Residential vs. commercial use
  • Indoor vs. outdoor use
  • Structural components
  • Electrical components
  • Heating elements
  • Burners and ignition systems
  • Finishes and coatings
  • Covers, accessories, and consumable parts
  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Replacement parts

Please review the product manual, manufacturer documentation, and product-specific warranty information included with your item.

2. What Warranties Typically Do Not Cover

Unless the manufacturer expressly states otherwise, warranties generally do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Cosmetic variation or natural material variation
  • Improper assembly
  • Improper installation
  • Improper storage
  • Improper maintenance
  • Misuse, neglect, abuse, or unauthorized modification
  • Damage caused by weather, water, overheating, freezing, high winds, snow loads, or natural events
  • Damage caused by failure to follow the owner’s manual
  • Damage caused by incorrect electrical, gas, propane, plumbing, or water connections
  • Damage caused by use with third-party products or accessories
  • Damage caused by moving, relocation, or third-party movers
  • Labor costs
  • Installation costs
  • Electrician, plumber, gas fitter, contractor, or service-call costs
  • Troubleshooting visits
  • Shipping, return shipping, or freight costs unless the manufacturer expressly covers them
  • Incidental, indirect, or consequential damages

Please include:

  • Order number
  • Product name and model
  • Date of delivery
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos or videos showing the issue
  • Photos of the full product
  • Photos of serial numbers, labels, or QR codes, if applicable
  • Proof of purchase
  • Any troubleshooting steps already taken

We may ask for additional photos, videos, measurements, serial numbers, or diagnostic information depending on the manufacturer’s requirements.

4. Manufacturer Review

Warranty claims are reviewed by the manufacturer or supplier.

Depending on the product and issue, the manufacturer may offer one or more of the following remedies:

  • Troubleshooting guidance
  • Replacement parts
  • Component repair
  • Product testing
  • Store credit
  • Replacement product
  • Refund, if approved by the manufacturer

Explore Outdoor Co. does not control the manufacturer’s warranty decision, inspection process, approval timing, replacement-part availability, or final remedy.

5. Return Merchandise Authorization

Some warranty claims may require a Return Merchandise Authorization, also known as an RMA, before any part or product can be returned.

Do not ship products or parts back to Explore Outdoor Co. or the manufacturer without written authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused and may not be eligible for warranty resolution.

6. Shipping Costs for Warranty Claims

Warranty shipping coverage varies by manufacturer and product.

Some manufacturers cover shipping for approved warranty replacement parts. Others may require the customer to pay shipping, return shipping, or freight costs.

If shipping costs apply, we will do our best to communicate them before proceeding with the claim.

7. Labor and Installation Costs

Unless the manufacturer expressly states otherwise in writing, warranties do not cover:

  • Labor
  • Assembly
  • Installation
  • Removal
  • Reinstallation
  • Electrical work
  • Gas or propane work
  • Plumbing work
  • Site work
  • Contractor fees
  • Service calls
  • Troubleshooting visits
  • Third-party repair costs

Customers are responsible for hiring qualified professionals where required.

8. Damage vs. Warranty Claims

Shipping damage is not the same as a warranty claim.

If your product arrives damaged, missing parts, or incorrect, you must report it promptly under our Shipping Policy and Returns & Refund Policy.

Visible freight damage should be noted on the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading at delivery. Concealed damage, missing parts, or incorrect items should be reported as soon as discovered.

Failure to report shipping damage within the applicable supplier’s required timeframe may limit available remedies.

9. Supplier-Specific Warranty Notes

Customers should register warranties where applicable and retain proof of purchase, delivery documentation, serial numbers, and product labels.

The Outdoor Plus warranty does not cover damage caused by water, overheating, modification, abuse, improper storage, improper installation, improper maintenance, installer negligence, third-party moving companies, or use with third-party products. Labor, installation, maintenance, and incidental or consequential damages are not covered.

Professional installation is required for gas, propane, electrical ignition systems, and water feature connections.
